The UCHENAB places an emphasis on social responsibility, and as such, expects all scholarship holder students to fulfill their obligation by educating at least one student during their professional career. This obligation serves as a way for scholarship recipients to give back to their communities, and to ensure that the benefits of their education are shared with others.

SECTION 4 - ELEGIBILITY

FOR BS DEGREE PROGRAMS

The scholarship will be awarded to the students having passed the Intermediate / HSSC examinations as per the following criteria.

FOR MS/ M PHIL DEGREE PROGRAMS

The scholarship will be awarded to the students having passed the BS/ Master/16 Years examinations as per the following criteria. In case student completed his/her degree through semester system then student can provide the details marks certificate.

FOR 5TH SEMESTER INDUCTION DEGREE PROGRAMS

The scholarship will be awarded to the students having passed the 14 Years/ ADP examinations.

MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Merit scholarships are awarded at admission based on HSSC aggregate marks and continue subject to CGPA maintenance each semester.

In-Programme Merit Recovery

  • Students in Open Programmes and Tier B programmes who did not qualify at admission may earn a 25% scholarship from the next semester by achieving an SGPA of 3.75 or above in their first semester, or a CGPA of 3.75 or above in any subsequent semester.

SECTION 5 - PROCEDURE

SECTION 6 - RULES & REGULATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP

  • Merit based scholarship will be granted after verification of submitted documents.
  • The time to apply for the scholarship is within two weeks from the start of classes or within two weeks of paying the first installment.
  • Application for merit-based scholarship will not be processed in case the applicant does not submit the required documents. (Details are mentioned on the merit-based scholarship form).
  • The scholarship will be granted on tuition fees only.
  • The scholarship will be available in regular semesters i.e., “Fall” and “Spring “admissions only.
  • Students can only be eligible for one scholarship at a time. (In case, a student is eligible for more than one scholarship at one time, he/she shall be awarded the highest percentage of all the available scholarships.)
  • In case of the following circumstances, the University reserves the right to cancel the merit-based scholarship already granted to any student. The student would not be able to apply for a review of the decision.
  • Disciplinary issues/misconduct
  • Rustication
  • Expulsion
  • De-Registration
  • Fraudulent act
  • Any student or his/her parents/guardian can apply for discontinuation of merit-based scholarship by giving an application to OSA.

Merit Scholarship Maintenance and Reinstatement Criteria

  • Students admitted on a merit scholarship must maintain a minimum SGPA/CGPA of 3.50 to continue receiving the full scholarship percentage awarded at the time of admission.

  • If a student’s SGPA/CGPA falls below 3.50 but remains at or above 3.25, the scholarship award will be adjusted in accordance with the approved sliding-scale formula.

  • If a student’s SGPA/CGPA falls below 3.25, the scholarship will be discontinued.

  • A student whose scholarship has been discontinued may apply for full reinstatement upon regaining a CGPA of 3.50 or above. However, a maximum of two scholarship reinstatements shall be permitted during the student’s academic programme.

SECTION 7 | REVIEW CRITERIA

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA FOR BELOW 50% Scholarship.

The student falling under this criterion must maintain a minimum of 3.00 CGPA throughout their degree program.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA FOR 50% AND ABOVE

The student falling under this criterion must maintain a minimum of 3.50 CGPA throughout their degree program.

If a student is unable to maintain the required CGPA in any semester, the stipulated cuts will be applied as per the table mentioned below.

Standard Policy

  • The above is standard policy. However, student’s financial position will be the main determinant in case of his/her review by the financial assistance review committee.
  • This review policy will be implemented for admission batches from Fall 2023 onward, with effect from the Fall 2025 session.
  • In case of semester freeze as well the CGPA is below as per the requirement in the previously enrolled semesters, the stipulated cuts will be applied.
  • In case of semester freeze, the original financial assistance percentage can be continued on student’s request if his/her CGPA is above than required CGPA in previous enrolled semester.
  • In case of degree transfer, on the student’s request, the granted financial assistance percentage can be shifted to the new degree program. However, in this case, the CGPA of the previously enrolled semester (of the previous degree) should be above required CGPA, otherwise stipulated cut will be applied.
  • In case the student’s CGPA is improved as per the required CGPA or above in the next semester (except summer) after implementation of the stipulated cuts; his/her financial assistance percentage will be restored to the original. However, the following conditions need to be fulfilled.
  • The student has to apply before the final date.
  • The student’s previous application for financial assistance will be reviewed along with the new request.

EXCLUSIONS

  1. No cuts will be applied in the summer semester.
  2. Revised CGPA after summer will not be considered. i.e., CGPA of the spring semester has an effect on the fall semester and vice versa.
