BIOGRAPHY

Asad Ali is a distinguished scholar and faculty member in the field of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. He got his Master of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics from The University of Lahore, Gujrat Campus in 2019. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to teaching, research, and academic leadership. He began his career as a Subject Specialist of English at Allied School Officers’ Campus, Kunjah, and later served as a Lecturer at Punjab Group of Colleges, Lalamusa, in 2021. Currently, he is a Lecturer in Linguistics at The University of Lahore, Sargodha Campus, Pakistan, where he also undertakes additional responsibilities including Exam Coordination, Research Coordination, serving as Secretary of the Board of Studies (BoS), and as a Member of the Academic Council at the main campus. Asad Ali possesses extensive teaching and research experience across diverse areas such as Syntax, Pragmatics, Morphology, First and Second Language Acquisition, Neurolinguistics, and Psycholinguistics. He has collaborated on research projects with the Higher Education Department and the British Council in 2022. His scholarly contributions include 18 published research articles in HEC-recognized journals (Y, X, and W categories) and 4 accepted papers in Q1 journals, including Ampersand Journal, Humanities Arts and Communication, Linguistic Inquiry, and Social Sciences and Humanities Open. He serves as an official Reviewer for prestigious journals such as Sage Open and Taylor & Francis. His research impact is reflected in a Google Scholar Impact Factor of 8 (2024). His primary research focuses on verbal argument structure and agreement, and he has introduced a unified theory of scrambling in Urdu, challenging the traditional frameworks proposed by Mahajan (1990) and Ayesha Kidwai (2008). Asad Ali has successfully completed multiple international projects in linguistics, demonstrating his dedication to advancing linguistic theory and applied research.
