Umer Farooq is a Lecturer in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, University of Chenab, Gujrat. He holds an M.Phil. in Molecular Biology & Forensic Sciences from the Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB), University of the Punjab, and a BS. (Hons.) in Medical Laboratory Technology from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. He brings over five years of hands-on clinical laboratory experience across hematology, blood banking, microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics, gained at Omar Hospital & Cardiac Centre, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Health Bridge Hospital, and the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad. His research interests span molecular diagnostics, Human Genetics and Genetic Diseases; Reproductive Disorders and Reproductive Health, and laboratory quality management, and he has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in national journals. He is committed to evidence-based teaching, mentoring undergraduate MLT students, and promoting quality assurance and biosafety standards (ISO 15189, PHC) in diagnostic laboratory practice.
