BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Mudassir Abbasi joined the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Chenab on December 04, 2023, following his tenure at Iqra University Chak Shahzad Campus, Islamabad. Commencing his academic career with a graduation from Federal Urdu University Karachi in 2011, he subsequently dedicated three years to the marketing departments of pharmaceutical industry leaders Abbott and Sanofi Pakistan. Upon re-entering academia, Dr. Abbasi obtained a master’s degree in Pharmaceutics from COMSATS University Islamabad in 2017 and subsequently completed a Ph.D. in pharmacy with a specialization in Pharmaceutics, supported by an HEC indigenous scholarship in 2023. His research period is remarkable, as he considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to conduct research at the University of Utah, USA, with funding from the IRSIP Scholarship provided by HEC, Pakistan, during his Ph.D. studies. Dr. Abbasi has demonstrated academic excellence through various teaching roles in Physical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Management and Marketing, Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics, Forensic Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Dosage form Sciences. Recognized for his prolific research output, he has published extensively in international journals, with a focus on pharmaceutical drug delivery, specifically in biomaterials such as hydrogels and nanoparticles. His pioneering research involves biomaterials drug delivery and chemotherapy utilizing the advanced techniques as synthesis of peptides using solid-phase methods and the investigation of drug-free macromolecules. Motivated by a deep passion for advancements in healthcare, his area of expertise lies in targeted drug delivery, particularly for colon and cancer chemotherapy treatments.
