Our institution offers students a variety of flexible options, allowing them to explore and shift between numerous courses throughout their five-year study duration. To build a solid foundation, the first two years are dedicated to a comprehensive core module.
Years 1 and 2: Focus on a vast core module to establish a strong groundwork in pharmaceutical sciences.
Year 3 Onward: Students apply their foundational knowledge to select specialized courses tailored to their interests and career goals.
By the third year, students will have a clear understanding of the significance of pharmacy in:
- Solving medicinal problems.
- Analyzing scientific content.
- Delving into case histories.
- Utilizing polymers to enhance drug delivery systems.
1. Generally accepted Principles
Acquirement of factual and theoretical efficiency is the cornerstone for a graduate Doctor of Pharmacy. Learning on the graduate level is self-reliant process and essentially comprises on the knowledge acquired from studying research, performing practical tasks and from academic course work. The classes ensures that the core tasks are complemented by guidance from the teachers.
2. Coaching Sessions
All the coaching sessions and classes are conducted in the week days and no weekend classes are allowed on the weekends. Apart from this, team discussions, symposiums, demonstrations, quizzes, class activities, experimentation, outdoor hospital visits, research work and interdisciplinary meetings are also conducted.
3. Teaching Plan
The advised teaching plan is mentioned below:
1. Delivering lectures. Daily
2. Presentation. Twice a month
3. Quiz based activities Twice a month
4. Research work/ Practical’s Once a week
5. interdepartmental meeting: Once in a month
6. Guest lectures: From time to time
7. Library based assignments from time to time
Point to be noted:
- Each and every class will be coordinated by the staff.
- Every training session will be examined by the consultative body consultants & will be graded accordingly.
- Attendance percentage of the students should be at least 75% in the semesters.
- The quality assurance department will monitor the program components as per the scheme of the study.
Research activities dealing with segregation & production of biologically related materials for the sake of usage in selective and regulated drug distribution devices, binders, sedimentation reduction agents, capsule covering ingredient, and utilization of computational skills in drug manufacture is taught in this institute.
Pharmacy Unit is devoted to demonstrating the distinguishing characteristics c of The University of Chenab, Gujrat competence in inculcating the values of nationality, commitment to the profession and hard work.
Research is requisite in any well reputed institution. It ensures the communication between the student and the teaching faculty in order to give better results. For the sake coping with the increases challenges of the present era, inter-disciplinary working is necessary. Therefore, we are also focusing to build healthy working as well as learning environment.
All the graduate students will be examined on a daily basis through academic activities. This assessment will continue periodically as well.
- General Principles
- The examination is assessment is conclusive, fair, and dependable.
- Developmental, continuous, and final examination is help for theory as well a practical work. Besides, assessment of research is a separate task.
- Formative Assessment
This examination is both continuous and end-of-term. The continuous one is for the theoretical course work as well as experimental skills. The latter in the end of each semester. The former is based on the theoretical and practical work concerned. End of term (semester exam) assessment is held at the end of each semester (up to the 10th semester).
This will ensure proper feedback to the students as well as to the faculty members to solve any academic problems/issues for further improvement.
3.Internal examination
The accomplishment of students within and after the study period will be examined continuously and will be recorded as well. This record will be an evidence of students hard work and performance throughout the semester and marks will be awarded on the basis of this record. - Summative Assessment
The division of the marks will be according to the subject and include theory and practical performance. Passing criteria is 50%. It will be compulsory for the student to pass both the practical as well as theory separately.
The minimum duration for completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is five years (10 Semesters).
Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent with Physics, Biology and Chemistry with min 60% marks
Before applying for a degree, you should first check that we recognize your higher secondary/tertiary education qualification. This can include:
- Pakistani Based Examinations: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent with Physics, Biology and Chemistry
- British System: GCE A Level with Physics, Biology and Chemistry
- International Baccalaureate (IB): The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP) from external Examining body Geneva, Switzerland with five subjects (including English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- 60% marks are required in all cases described above.
- Equivalence Certificate for A-Level/IB and other qualification holders from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) Islamabad, Pakistan.
- Admission test administered by the university.

Overview
The administration established Pharmacy department in order to make it the focal point for the department of pharmaceutical sciences. The Pharmaceutical Sciences unit comprises of upgraded lecture halls, conference halls and meeting rooms. Studies reveal pharmaceutical sector to be a lifesaving. Catering the clinical prospects of this field, the department of Pharmacy offers 5-years of Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy). This includes two rears of MPhil Pharmaceutic as well as, MPhil Pharmacology program in accordance with the exigencies of the Pharmacy council of Pakistan.
