BIOGRAPHY

Ramsha Ghafoor is the Head of Department (HOD) of Optometry & Vision Sciences at the University of Chenab. She completed her BSc Honors in Optometry & Orthoptics from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore and is currently completing her MPhil in Optometry at the University of Faisalabad (2024–2026).
As HOD, she has established the department's teaching labs, developed its curriculum, and led clinical training for undergraduate students. Her teaching interests include Visual Optics, Ocular Anatomy and Physiology, Ocular Pathology, Clinical Optometry, and Low Vision Rehabilitation. She has published research on myopia progression and Misight contact lens management in children, and on enhancing quality of life through specialized optometry, both in HEC-recognized journals. She is currently working on studies covering visual acuity outcomes after cataract surgery in diabetic patients, the link between dry eye disease and systemic medications, and retinal health and visual function in anaemic patients. Through this work, she continues to build the department's academic and clinical foundation while advancing evidence-based eye care.
