HEC Chairman Graces The University of Chenab as university welcomed Honourable Engr. Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman Higher Education Commission, for an academic engagement. The visit created a platform for discussing higher education, research, innovation, and socio-economic development. The distinguished Chairman received a warm welcome from Honourable Deputy Chairman Mr. Naveed Akbar, Board of Governors, Rector Engr. Muhammad Raza Chohan, and Pro-Rector Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hussain. Their reception reflected the University’s commitment to academic interaction. Furthermore, the engagement brought institutional leadership together around shared priorities for higher education.
During the visit, HEC Chairman delivered a talk titled “Reimagining the Role of Universities in Socio-Economic Development.” He highlighted purposeful education, impactful research, innovation, and knowledge creation as drivers of national progress. Additionally, he discussed Artificial Intelligence and its growing influence across academic landscapes. Meanwhile, the session emphasized the need for universities to prepare students and institutions for challenges.
