Their employability is ensured in fields as diverse as customer service teaching, content creators, media, communication, civil service, and many others.
In the Department of Languages, the concerned faculty is responsible for awarding a 4-year program of BS English. Given the scope of this degree program, in which the instruction medium is English, different types of literature styles and literature periods of English are completely read and understood with the help of different courses related to criticism and textual analysis, both the comparative and American literature are thoroughly offered to students so they can get a better understanding of various literatures and cultures. This program offers a vast prospect in which psychological, social, and biological viewpoint of the language are catered by the means of linguistic courses. Additionally, elective courses are offered from various disciplines whereby the students are equipped with the information, skills, and competencies necessary to conduct interdisciplinary academic research.
We also target to foster an aptitude for advanced learning and research among our students. For this, our faculty members dedicate themselves to impart collaborative and meticulous ambiance. Faculty areas of specialization are disparate and wide-ranging including studies in Applied Linguistics and Literature. MPhil English Literature and MPhil Applied Linguistics ensure students’ engagement with Reading and writing in various rhetorical contexts, interpreting and analyzing a broad array of texts and genres, developing and sustaining criticality, understanding various approaches to second language acquisition, Multiple historical and cultural contexts of language and literature, the terminology, methodology and theories of English Studies, and majorly focusing on the production of independent research.
In the next five years, we look forward to better integrating the department’s various programs by spotlighting 21st-Century Literary and Linguistic Studies. Our vision of literary studies centers on diversity, as indicated in our search priorities. Our classes and co-curricular programming will encourage students to see the difference the social sciences make in the various communities they engage and transit. We encourage faculty to join learning communities devoted to enhancing our pedagogy and making it more inclusive, we will further expand the pedagogical training and mentoring we offer to our graduate students.
