Program Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program offered by the Department of Business Education at the University of Chenab is a four-year undergraduate degree program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today’s challenging business environment. The program covers a wide range of business and management areas, including finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, and human resources.
By studying BBA, students gain practical knowledge of how businesses operate, and they develop a solid background in business and management. The program aims to develop managerial leadership skills, effective communication strategies, job performance duties, new product development, mathematical skills, microfinance, social responsibility, sustainability, business planning, industry reporting, critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making.
The BBA program offers a flexible mixture of core/compulsory and optional modules, covering all essential areas of business and management necessary for a successful career on a global scale. Real-life case studies are taught by leading academics who are well-connected with the business world, combining their study with work experience.
Students also have the option to undertake a work placement with an external organization as an optional module, providing valuable experience to add to their CV. Alternatively, students can choose coursework instead of a placement year. Overall, the BBA program aims to prepare students for professional careers in various business fields and to become successful in today’s global business environment.
Modules
Year One introduces key skills necessary for the advanced study of Business Administration. This module will introduce the fundamental concepts of business management. You will study Business, Economics, entrepreneurship, business creation and growth, principles of Markets, Marketing and Selling, Accounting, and Finance.
Year One module will also provide the study of Analytical methods for Business, Language and Context of Business, and Basic Economic issues.
The Year Two modules available will focus on Managing Innovation, International Business Strategies, Organizational Behavior and Management, Business Research Methods, Operations of supply chain management, professional and academic development.
Year three and four is a work placement module that will enable you to apply your skills in a real work setting. Other modules listed within year Three emphasize the study of Business strategy, Business Administration, computational thinking, Managerial Accounting, Business Law, and Operations Management.
Teaching
Academic modules are taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, computer-based lab sessions, seminars, workshops, online learning, and independent study. The number of modules studied varies per year and is the equivalent of a weekly two-three-hour lecture. You will be guided about study time preparing for classes, reading primary texts, and completing research projects.
Our Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration ensures strong skill-based business learning in a highly conducive and productive environment. Auxiliary online materials are available and there will be various events and activities to further enhance the learning.
Assessment
All the modules are assessed by coursework, including individual assignments, real-business case studies, interview projects, online quizzes, group work, and poster presentations.
Duration
The minimum duration for completion of a BBA degree is four years. HEC allows a maximum period of seven years to complete bachelor’s degree requirements.
Entry Requirement
Before applying for a degree, you should first check that we recognize your higher secondary/tertiary education qualification. This can include:
- Pakistani Based Examinations: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent with any discipline or three years Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in any discipline
- British System: GCE A Level with any subjects
- International Baccalaureate (IB): The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP) from external Examining body Geneva, Switzerland with any subjects
- 45% marks are required in all cases described above.
- Equivalence Certificate for A-Level/IB and other qualification holders from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) Islamabad, Pakistan.
- Admission test administered by the university.
